Books & Recommended Reading
The reading Christian is a growing Christian. That statement expresses the belief that gave birth to this recommended reading list for Christian laypersons. The reason for this list is to help everyday Christians grow in their understanding of and love for the Lord. The recommended works here are not intended to replace the believer’s reading of the Bible itself. Instead, they are meant to help enrich one’s comprehension of Scripture.
While this book list contains some works on a scholar’s level, most works are accessible to typical laypersons. Certainly, many other works are worthy of being on this list that are not included here. This list is not exhaustive by any means, but it does give some direction to believers who are seeking to build their library.

9 Marks – 9 Marks is a ministry dedicated to helping churches develop a biblical vision for the local church.
Answers in Genesis – Answers in Genesis seeks to help Christians defend their faith and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively, focusing particularly on issues surrounding the book of Genesis.
Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation – CCEF is a ministry that provides resources and equips the church to counsel in a gospel-centered way.
Desiring God – Desiring God is an internet ministry which strives to produce and distribute resources that spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ.
Founders Ministries – Founders Ministries is a ministry of teaching and encouragement promoting both doctrine and devotion expressed in the Doctrines of Grace and their experiential application to the local church, particularly in the areas of worship and witness.
Grace To You – Grace to You is a resource site dedicated to teaching biblical truth with the purpose of protecting believers from being “tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming” (Ephesians 4:14).
The Gospel Coalition – The Gospel Coalition is a fellowship of evangelical churches deeply committed to renewing the gospel of Christ in churches and to reforming ministry practices to conform fully to the Scriptures.
Together for the Gospel – T4G is a biannual conference and resource site that exists for the purpose of reaffirming the central doctrine of the Christian faith, the Gospel, and to encourage local churches to do the same.
